Well, this week has been interesting. I didn't do so hot on the whole working out this. I worked out maybe 3 times all week and didn't really make the best choices for food either. But will all that, I did lose another one pound this week. Just have to keep pushing forward and taking it one day at a time. :-)
Tried not to get to discouraged with my lack of effort this week, and I think writing about it helps me get some clarity. So, it's all good. It's only one week! And I didn't gain anything. All in all, not bad. Have a good week!

5 lbs down
So I weighed myself this morning and I have lost 5.4 lbs in 7 days! Woo hoo! Something is obviously working, and I haven't even worked out since Sunday! Today was also another milestone! I am officially under 200 lbs and hopefully will stay that way forever!!!
In other great news, I ate at Olive Garden for lunch with my bestie and only had 340 calories!!! I do love that Zuppe Toscana soup! 2 bowls!! I know there are a lot of exclamation marks in the post, but I am excited to finally be on the right track! And I haven't given up all the foods I love! Hurray!

Missed a couple days
Okay, so I've slacked a little. With working and going immediately to prayer revival, I haven't worked out the past 2 days. But, I have still been watching my calories and staying within my allowance.
Today is the last day of the revival, and I may or may not be able to work out today. I've just been so exhausted this week. So tomorrow begins again with the intense workouts.
Oh but I have discovered Diet Dr. pepper. It's not terrible! And there are zero calories! So I think I'll have one of those on occasion, to help get my Dr. Pepper fix. Hoping to see some good news on the scale this week. Haven't really decided when I'm going to weigh though. Maybe on Sundays.
Hope everyone has a good rest of the week.

Prayer Revival
Well today was the beginning of prayer revival, and was a super busy day. We had 2 services this morning plus revival service from 6:00 til 8:15 tonight. Plus Becky Jayne's baby shower this afternoon, which was awesome! I can't wait to meet Lyla Kate!
So anyway, trying to eat healthy on such a crazy busy day was not so easy. The important thing is I stayed under my calories allowance for the day and I went walking with my mom. I also went to Walmart after revival and got stuff for lunches this week. So I should be good to go.
Must remember to still get plenty sleep during this crazy week and to find time to work out every day! But prayer revival is going to be amazing!

A busy Saturday
Today was good, kind of busy, but good. We ate lunch for Leah's birthday at Johnny Carino's. It was a little tough to find something that wasn't terrible for me, especially since I don't eat many veggies. At the end of the day, I had walked 2 miles with my bestie and only gone 100 calories over my goal. Not too terrible. Well tonight I'm hopefully gonna dye my hair and just chill with my bestie. See y'all tomorrow!

Getting started
So today, I did some things to help begin my journey. I made a My Fitness Pal account, so I can keep track of my caloric intake and downloaded the app for easy access. I also walked/ran for 30 minutes this evening in the rich neighborhood.
My Fitness Pal gave me a calorie allowance of 1340 calories a day and I stayed within that today. I am trying to eat smaller portioned meals with a snack in between. Today went really well!
Side note: I had an interesting experience on my walk this evening. I was walking on the sidewalk on Hamilton and noticed a man coming down the other side of the street pushing a shopping cart. I became aware of his presence and noticed he was talking. I pulled my one earbud out so I could hear what he was saying. He was yelling about people disrespecting him and not treating him right or something. So I immediately turned the corner and walked up a side street hoping that he would keep going the other way. Of course, he did and was not at all concerned with me, but it was a little weird and I don't think I'm going to walk down there anymore.
I'm excited about what tomorrow will bring. Let's go, I'm ready for it!

Ok, here we go...
Okay, so this time is for real. No excuses. Tomorrow begins my new lifestyle change. I am determined to change the way I look and feel. Since I was in junior high, I have struggled with my weight and in turn, my self esteem. I appear very confident to any outsider I meet, and I am for the most part. But I am tired of looking this way and have to do something about it. I have halfway said I was going to change before, but never with this much drive. My mind is made up and today is the day I begin a transformation.
I bought the new Zumba Exhilarate DVD set and with that and running, I am hoping to make working out a new fun daily activity! I'm going to have to start going to bed earlier if I want to get up and work out before my day begins. So before I go to bed, here are some of my goals for my new lifestyle:
1. Take this one day at a time
2. Do some kind of physical activity for 30-45 minutes a day
3. Cut out all fried food and sodas
4. Make healthy, smart decisions about the food I use to fuel my body
5. Blog daily as a way to hold myself accountable for my decisions
Well here goes nothing!
